What Quotemunity does
We connect quotations with canonical people, topics, source information, and editorial trust signals. Author identities are resolved against established names, aliases, and external identifiers so similarly named people are not silently merged.
Sources, attribution, and trust
Automated discovery can surface a possible quotation, but discovery alone is not verification. Our publishing workflow checks wording, speaker identity, provenance, rights policy, duplication, and content quality before material can be published.
Public labels communicate the evidence available: Source Verified indicates that wording and attribution are supported by an identified source; Attributed indicates a recognized attribution with limitations in the available evidence; and Attribution Disputed identifies a meaningful conflict or uncertainty. These labels are editorial assessments, not claims of absolute certainty.
Tools and original work
The Quote Generator lets visitors create a shareable image from an existing quote or their own text. QuoteMunity Original Visuals are separately produced editorial works, reviewed before they become publicly available in the Visuals gallery.
Automation with safeguards
Automation helps discover people, candidate quotations, sources, and topics. It does not replace the verification and publication gates. Unsupported or ambiguous material fails closed instead of being treated as established fact, and finished Original Visuals remain subject to manual review and publishing.
Corrections and removals
Quotation history changes as better evidence becomes available. To report a wording error, attribution concern, source issue, privacy matter, or removal request, follow the instructions on our contact page. Copyright requests can also use the process described in our Copyright & Removal Policy.
