Agnès Varda

Agnès Varda was a Franco-Belgian filmmaker, photographer, and visual artist whose career moved fluidly between documentary, fiction, photography, and installation. Her major films include *Cléo from 5 to 7*, *Vagabond*, *The Beaches of Agnès*, and *Faces Places*, the latter made with the artist JR. She began as a photographer before turning to cinema, and her work remained closely connected to questions of place, memory, and everyday life.
