Albert Huie

Albert Huie was a Jamaican painter and printmaker whose representational landscapes, portraits, and scenes of everyday life helped shape modern Jamaican art. Born in Falmouth, he trained in Jamaica, Canada, and London, and later became a founding lecturer at the Jamaica School of Art and Craft. His major works include The Vendor, Crop Time, and Portrait of Edna Manley; he is often honored as a key figure in Jamaican and African Diaspora art.
