Byung-Chul Han

Byung-Chul Han is a South Korean–born German philosopher and cultural theorist whose work examines how technology, neoliberalism, and contemporary culture reshape human experience. Teaching and writing in Germany, he became widely known for concepts such as the “burnout society” and “transparency society,” which describe self-exploitation, surveillance, and the erosion of contemplative life. His books include *The Burnout Society*, *In the Swarm*, *The Agony of Eros*, and *Topology of Violence*.
