Diego Rivera

Diego Rivera was a Mexican painter and muralist whose monumental frescoes helped establish post-revolutionary Mexico’s public art tradition. After studying in Europe, he returned to Mexico in 1921 and developed a vivid style combining modernist technique with Indigenous and popular Mexican imagery. His major mural commissions in Mexico and the United States often addressed national history, labor, industry, and social change.
