François Pinault

François Pinault built his business career from a timber-trading company established in the early 1960s into a diversified group that entered luxury goods in 1999. He is also a major contemporary-art collector whose cultural project includes Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana in Venice, as well as the Bourse de Commerce in Paris. Through these institutions and related programs, Pinault has promoted exhibitions, artist support, and public access to contemporary art.
