Jean-Pierre Bekolo

Jean-Pierre Bekolo is a Cameroonian filmmaker whose work combines political satire, genre experimentation, and sharp social commentary. After working as an editor at Cameroon’s national television station and studying film semiotics in Paris, he made his feature debut with *Quartier Mozart* (1992). His later films, including *Aristotle’s Plot*, *The Bloodettes*, and *Le Président*, challenge conventional ideas about African cinema while exploring power, identity, and alternative futures.
