Keene Fitzpatrick

Keene Fitzpatrick was a pioneering American athletic trainer and track coach whose career spanned Yale, the University of Michigan, and Princeton. At Michigan, he coached track and trained football teams, including during Fielding H. Yost’s celebrated early-20th-century teams; he later spent 22 years at Princeton. Fitzpatrick also helped organize the Association of College Track and Field Coaches and Trainers in 1918, an early professional milestone for athletic training.
