Lila Downs

Lila Downs is a Mexican-American singer-songwriter, composer, producer, and anthropologist whose music draws on Mexican traditional forms and Indigenous musical traditions. She incorporates languages including Mixtec, Zapotec, Maya, Purépecha, and Nahuatl, connecting her work to Mexican cultural heritage and the experiences of migrants. Her career spans more than three decades and includes Grammy and Latin Grammy recognition.
