Margaret Olley

Margaret Olley was an Australian painter celebrated for intimate still lifes and richly observed interiors. After studying in Sydney and Paris, she became a prominent figure in postwar Australian art, holding her first solo exhibition in 1948 and maintaining a long exhibition career. She also supported the arts through the Margaret Olley Art Trust, which helped galleries acquire works for their collections.
