Max Ernst

Max Ernst was a German-born artist whose work helped shape both Dada and Surrealism. Working across painting, sculpture, printmaking, collage, and writing, he developed inventive techniques that transformed found images and textures into dreamlike compositions. His career connected the European avant-garde with the United States, where he lived from 1941 to 1953 and continued exploring the psychological and unsettling dimensions of modern art.
