Mzilikazi

Mzilikazi (c. 1790–1868) was a Southern African king and the founder of the Ndebele state. After leaving the region dominated by Shaka, he led his followers northward and established a powerful kingdom that later centered in present-day southwestern Zimbabwe. He died at Ingama, near Bulawayo, on September 9, 1868, and was succeeded by his son, Lobengula.
