Peter Greenaway

Peter Greenaway is a Welsh-born British filmmaker whose work spans cinema, painting, writing, television, and multimedia art. Trained as a painter, he developed a highly composed visual style shaped by Renaissance art, architecture, lists, and formal experimentation. His films include *The Draughtsman’s Contract*, *The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover*, and *Prospero’s Books*, works that helped establish his reputation as one of British cinema’s most distinctive auteurs.
