Understanding this quote
The speaker says the person was not hired for a “BAU job.” This sets the role apart from whatever “BAU” means in the surrounding context, suggesting the work is not meant to follow that usual pattern. Because the quote does not explain the abbreviation, its precise meaning cannot be determined from these words alone.
