Understanding this quote
The quote rejects the idea that theatre belongs in an isolated “ivory tower.” It presents theatre as an art that meets its audience directly, with the spectator’s presence at the center of the experience. Its value is not limited to artistic practice alone; it also lies in the immediate connection between what happens on stage and the person watching.
